Meet the Characters Part 2: Cammie, Chris, Blake, Ashleigh and Perry

5/9/2023

I’m a day late, but hopefully not a dollar short! I’m excited to introduce you to the support cast of To Save a Life (Click here to purchase!) If you missed part one of this post duology 😉 click here!

I’ve been overwhelmed by the support I’ve received for TSAL so far and y’all, I can’t wait for this book to be in paperback! My designer is doing an excellent job and I cannot wait for y’all to hold this baby in your hands!

But until then, let’s hit today’s post, shall we?

Picture

Camilla "Cammie" Carter-Tate

Picture
Age: 38
Occupation: Abortion Clinic Director
Story Position: Antagonist, sorta

About: Cammie has worked in the abortion industry ever since college. Fighting to survive and care for her baby brother after their mother died, she’s a self-made woman. She can handle anything life throws at her. She has risen to the position of clinic director through blood, sweat and tears and no one is going to take her dream of helping women away from her. Not even her pro-life brother. Definitely not a baby that survives… After all, they both would have been better off dead, right?

Chris Tate

Age: 30s
Occupation: Lawyer
Story Position: Side Character

About: Chris is just trying to keep the peace. He loves his family, and it kills him they disagree on practically everything. Why can’t they just get along? And why can’t he be excited about having a nephew just because his wife’s clinic failed to kill him? Can’t bygones be bygones? Why can’t they all just be together and let their differences rest?
Picture

Blake Carter

Picture
Age: None of your business
Occupation: Army Drill Sergeant
Story Position: Side Character

About: He’s a warrior, but he’s been on the run. Chased away by the woman he loved, he gave up fighting to see his kids and just let them live their lives, not knowing they needed him. But he knows now. And he has the chance to make it right. But will he?

Ashleigh Jones

Age: 30s
Occupation: NICU Registered Nurse
Story Position: Side Character

About: Ashleigh is Roman’s first cousin; her father and his mother were siblings. Caring for her elderly parents is a hard load to shoulder, but her nursing job helps cover everything. Seeing so many babies live and die under her care is stressful and she remembers each one. But there is something extra special about helping these little fighters and nothing more rewarding than getting to be a part of their recovery…she only hopes Natty will be one of them.

Picture

Perry Daniels

Age: 30s
Occupation: Paramedic
Story Position: Sidekick

About: Perry has always wanted to be in the medical field, ever since he was a child. He’s never been good with babies or ladies, unless it was a situation where he was saving their life. Otherwise, this cool, calm and collected Paramedic turns into a hot mess! But when Roman needs him most, he’s always there for him.

And that concludes our introductions to the caste of TSAL! Do you have any questions? About these characters, about the book, about content that might be brought up? Please ask in the comments or feel free to contact me via the form on the contact page! I will be making more posts about To Save a Life in the coming weeks, so all suggestions are welcome!

Question of the Day: Have you read TSAL yet? Who are you most excited to meet?

To Save A Life: Meet the Characters Part One! || Roman, Stephani, Amber, Chad and Natty

5/1/2023

2 Comments

As you all know, my newest book, To Save a Life, released April 20th! This book heavily focuses on the pro-life movement and the surrounding issues that arise when you take either side of the issue. (Purchase Link, so you can check it out!)
Today, I think it will be fun to introduce the characters from the book to you, starting with the main characters! There are five, so, lets get started!
Picture

Roman Carter

Picture
Age: 22
Occupation: AMET (Advanced Medical Emergency Technician)
Story Position: Main Character #1

About: Roman has gone through a lot in his short life, being raised by his sister, an abortion clinic director. After encountering the horrors of abortion firsthand, he believed on Christ at the age of 16 and worked towards becoming an AMET. He married Stephani at age 20. They were blessed with a daughter, who died in a car accident. Devastated, the couple is still in the midst of grieving when the opportunity to adopt is dropped in their lap in the form of an abortion survivor…

Stephani Carter

Age: 22
Occupation: Ultrasound Technician
Story Position: Main Character #3

About: Stephani has always been pro-life. Perks of having a dad who runs a care center! Grieving the loss of her daughter, she still jumps at the chance to adopt, her arms aching to be filled. Stephani is the shoulder to cry on for some and the listening ear for all. Nothing gives her more joy than sharing the Gospel and snuggling babies. She loves Romans and is so grateful she gets to love him for the rest of her life…
Picture

Amber Gray

Picture
Age: 20
Occupation: College Student/Barista
Story Position: Main Character #2

About: Amber has made some mistakes in her life…including getting pregnant before marriage and trying to hide it. She never thought it would lead to halfway breaking the law and attempting to abort her unborn child. Raised in a lower class family, she shocked Chad Tate would give her the time of day, much less love her…and father the child she tried to abort. There’s no way God can fix her mess…or can He?

Chad Tate

Age: 21
Occupation: Law Firm Accountant /College Student
Story Position: Main Character #4

About: Chad never meant to dishonor Amber. The last think he wanted was to hurt her. But in a moment, his choices led then on a downward spiral… With his baby’s life and future on the line, can Chad face his mistakes and turn the ship around before it crashes?

Picture

Natty

Picture
Age: Newborn
Occupation: Being Adorable
Story Position: The OG Main Character 😉

About: Failed abortion wasn’t how Natty should have made his entrance into the world, but since his first breath, he has been a fighter, a mighty little warrior. His life hangs in the balance though, and no one knows is he will win this battle. Can he gather his strength for one more push or will God choose to answer those battling for him in prayer by bringing him Home to a place of no more pain?
Next week, we will look at the final five characters you need to know about, but in the meantime…do you have any questions? About these characters, about the book, about content that might be brought up? Please ask in the comments or feel free to contact me via the form on the contact page! I will be making more posts about To Save a Life in the coming weeks, so any and all suggestions are welcome!

To Save a Life is Here!

4/22/2023

That's right everyone! To Save a Life is now available in ebook format!

It all came together so fast, and we've had so much going on, I've just now gotten the chance to tell you all about it!

But I have time now!

First off, here's your link to purchase!

To Save a Life is available on Kindle Unlimited as well, so take advantage of that too!

For those who are new here, here's a little information about my book baby!
Picture
How do you measure the worth of a life?

After EMT Roman Carter is called to a failed abortion, he's forced to battle both his own scars and his inability to stop the evil system that holds so many in its grasp. But could the tiny baby cupped in his hands prove a powerful ally in the fight?

When Amber Gray gets her first glimpse of the baby, she can't believe her eyes. It wasn't supposed to be like this. He wasn't supposed to be whole, or a fighter, or in such obvious pain. With help from Roman and his wife, Amber works to turn her life around and atone for her terrible error. But how could God possibly use her after such an unspeakable act?

As one little life struggles for survival, countless others hang in the balance. Just how far can a tiny miracle reach?

Because I deal with the horrors of abortion, I recommend this book for 16+ readers. There is an unwed couple in the story, but no sordid details are given.

If you have any questions, leave them in the comments or contact me!

Have a blessed day and let me know what you think!

Hello, 2022 || Goodbye 2021

1/3/2022

Hello everyone! It’s hard to believe another year has come and gone already! I’ve been married for a whole year! I’m six month pregnant! I’M HAVING A BABY THIS YEAR!!! *insert happy squeals* I am beyond excited to meet my baby girl and start my relationship outside the womb with her! If her current disposition is any indication, I’m gonna have my hands full! She loves to kick and punch me at the same time, trying to trick me into thinking she has turned into twins! Little stinker 😊

But y’all didn’t click on this post to hear me gush about my little Southern Belle. Not yet anyway 😉 Don’t worry, I’m sure its coming *wink* (Pst! Subscribe, I’ll share more in my newsletters in weeks to come!) Y’all clicked on this post to see what’s gonna happen with the blog, or if I will even keep it going now that I’m fast approaching motherhood outside the womb. (Yes, I will keep referring to it that way, because I’m already experiencing motherhood inside the womb and its wonderful even if she has been causing me to be sick pretty much the whole time, lol!)

So! Without further ado, lets jump into today’s post!

Picture

What to Expect ||

Things are changing around here. I am cutting my schedule back to one post a week (I’m batch posting, Lord willing!) instead of two and I will be attempting to send out a newsletter to subscribers once a month.

With the Lord’s help, there will be a devotional as usual, a reading related post, a writing or history related post, and on the fourth Monday of every month with five Mondays (confusing I know, sorry!) I will attempt to bring you an author interview! I also intend to make the final Monday of the month a wrap-up of goals accomplished that month and setting new ones. Book Reviews will be posted at random as I write them.

I am due to give birth on April 6th, but as we all know, babies come on their schedule, not ours. Regardless, I am taking a hiatus the month of April. I can’t promise I’ll bounce right back in May, because I’m gonna be soaking up all those baby snuggles. I appreciate your patience and understanding as I undergo this new stage of my life. I love creating content for y’all and knowing you understand when I’ve had to put on the breaks has been a huge blessing to me! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

What Happened to TSAL ||

I’ll give you the short answer: I got sick again. Then school amped up (I teach electives for a Christian School. No, I’m not telling you where 😉), midterms were approaching and I just didn’t get the book edited in time.

I have not put To Save A Life on the back burner however. I will give more details in an upcoming writing update, but know this is my current WIP and I am enjoying polishing this rough cut story into something I hope God can use to touch lives and save some babies and their families from the destruction of abortion.

Word of the Year ||

I am so excited to share this year’s word of the year. God has been stirring my heart about so many different things related to this topic and my dear friend, Katja, helped me find the word I was looking for.

So, without further ado, the word of the year 2022 is…

Commissioned

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Matthew 28:19
King James Bible

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
Isaiah 61:1
King James Bible

And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?
1 Samuel 17:29
King James Bible

As Christians, there are many things God has called us to do. Yes, the Great Commission is the main one and it is not to be tossed aside lightly. But God has commanded us, as our Supreme Commander, to do many great things for His honor and Glory! This year, I hope to scratch the surface as I attempt to grow in these areas myself. Will you join me?

Goals for January ||

I do have a few goals to share with you today and I encourage you to make a list yourself!

Writing||
            Complete edits on To Save A Life
            Batch Posts for February

Reading||
            Read 10 books minimum
            Complete one of my devotional books from last year 😉

Life||

            Make our baby registry (Yeah, I’m way behind!)
            Eat more veggies (gotta keep me, hubby and baby healthy!)

So that’s about all I have for you today! Now it’s your turn! Do you have a word of the year? Do you have any special goals for this month? Please comment below and let us cheer you on!

Have a blessed day and God Bless America!
Ryana Lynn (and Baby Peterson 😉)
